Afrodesia Salsa was born out of the love for afro-cuban jazz music, authentic cuban salsa and a desire to teach salsa to others.
Our mission is simple: To teach as many people as possible one of the most feel-good dances on the planet, Cuban Salsa!
Our teaching style
At Afrodesia Salsa we encourage positive learning in a fun and relaxed way. This helps put new students at ease and regular students in the mood to have their weekly dose of fun and dance. However, classes have the right amount of structure and a set programme of learning for each level. So along with the fun and socialising, students build on their technique to progress and become great dancers!

If you are a beginner…
You will discover there is no such thing as having two left feet. Your body can move in a way you thought it wouldn’t be possible (let us assure you, it is possible!).
At Afrodesia Salsa you will discover how much fun learning salsa is and how great it makes you feel by simply trying. Before you know it, you will have mastered the basic steps which will enable you to dance salsa with confidence, and move onto the next level with ease.
If you are more advanced…
Well, we don’t need to convince you, you’re already mad about salsa and hooked on the buzz it gives you every time you hear the music and you hit the floor!
At Afrodesia Salsa you will keep on practicing your salsa dance skills, and learn new more advanced techniques as you continue to grow in confidence. You will enjoy the freedom of the social dancing where you can truly express your Cuban salsa style!
Whatever level you are at…
Our dance classes are fun, relaxed, and rewarding. Please don’t worry if you come alone, most of our students come to the classes without a partner and all have a great time! So come and give it a try!

Joey PorterI've just completed my second course at Afrodesia and I've loved the whole experience. The structured nature of the course builds on what we learned the week before so I felt like I was making measurable progress in my movement, move catalogue, partner dancing and even learning a little Spanish along the way thanks to Rueda! The community is also excellent at Afrodesia, I've always been reluctant to join socials and extracurriculars but the core community here has really helped build my confidence and enjoy social dancing which is why I'm here in the first place. Jerry and Esther work well together as teachers because they're able to give lead and follower advice respectively, joining in the practice and giving targeted feedback as well. Lugay Mahama⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly Recommended!!!!!!!! Before joining Esther and Jerry’s salsa classes, I was convinced I had zero coordination and couldn’t dance to a beat. It’s amazing how much progress you can make with consistent practice, patient teaching, and constructive feedback from such supportive instructors. What surprised me most is that the classes are about much more than just dancing. I’ve met some genuinely great people, shared plenty of laughs, and made friendships along the way. The atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed, and full of positive energy. Thursday evenings have genuinely become one of the highlights of my week.
