Deepen your technique, musicality, and connection to Afro-Cuban culture and dances with an exceptional instructor!
This workshop will cover:
- Afro-Cuban body movement technique: Explore grounding, isolation, coordination, posture, and natural body flow rooted in Afro-Cuban movement traditions.
- Rumba: Dive into the energy and playful interaction of Rumba, focusing on movement, musical interpretation, and styling.
Event details:
- 2:45pm: Doors open
- 3pm – 5pm: Afro-Cuban & Rumba workshop with Ariel Rios
- 5pm – 6pm: Social

Your teacher for the day:
From Havana, Ariel Rios is a renowned dancer, teacher, performer, and choreographer, with more than 25 years of experience.
Ariel studied at the University of Havana and taught at the National Arts Instructor’s School for teachers-in-training. He has performed and choreographed for internationally renowned companies including the National Ballet of Cuba, Isadanza and Yoruba Andabo.

- Workshops are held at the MAPP Centre (22-24 Mount Pleasant, Reading, RG1 2TD).
- There is free limited parking space available on site. On-street parking space is also available.
